News release

Milton Transit is partnering with the Milton Public Library again this summer to offer the Read and Ride program from June 25 to Sept. 3, 2022.

Youth aged 16 and under can ride Milton Transit for free by showing their validated library card to the bus driver upon boarding. The validated card allows them to ride Milton Transit free, anywhere in Milton.

Transit validation stickers are free and will be available at every Milton Public Library branch starting June 25.

Residents are invited to attend the launch for the Read and Ride program as part of the kick-off for the Milton Public Library’s TD Summer Reading Club. It takes place on June 25, 2022 at the Main Library from 1:30- 3:30 p.m.

During the kick-off event, a Milton Transit bus will be on hand for boarding and exploring at the library. Participants will also receive their validation stickers and can take part in games and activities.

"We’re thrilled to be offering the Read and Ride program again this summer. The Read and Ride program supports youth in our community to continue with personal development over the summer through reading and exploring. The program also aims to introduce young riders to the transit system in order to encourage future use.”
