In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that The Remington Group Inc. has applied for a draft plan of subdivision and zoning by-law amendment.
Location
The subject property is situated on the east side of Trafalgar Road south of Derry Road. The subject property is located in Ward 3 and has an area of approximately 40.02 hectares. The property is legally described as CON 8 NS PT LOT 8 in the Town of Milton and municipally identified as The site is within the Trafalgar Secondary Plan and is designated as Low Density Residential Area, Medium Density Residential I Area, Medium Density Residential II Area, Neighbourhood Centre Mixed Use II Area, and Natural Heritage System. The subject lands are currently zoned as future development in the Town’s Zoning By-law.
Applicant’s Proposal
A development application has been submitted to amend the Town of Milton Zoning By-law to facilitate a Plan of Subdivision consisting of 393 residential units, comprising 238 single-detached units, 111 street townhouse units, and 44 back-to-back townhouse units. The subject lands also include 1.03 hectares of Medium Density Residential I, 2.05 hectares of Medium Density Residential II, and 3.12 hectares of Neighbourhood Centre Mixed Use II lands, all subject to future site plan approval. In addition, one 2.83-hectare elementary school block, one 2.50-hectare neighbourhood park block, two stormwater management pond blocks, and three natural heritage system blocks are proposed. Specifically, the proposal seeks to amend the Zoning By-law to rezone the subject lands to a site-specific Residential Medium Density I Special Zone (RMD1-AAA), Residential Medium Density II Special Zone (RMD2-BBB), Mixed Use Special Zone (MU-CCC), Open Space (OS), Stormwater Management (OS-2), Minor Institutional (I-A), and Natural Heritage System (NHS) to implement the Trafalgar Secondary Plan.
Planning Act Requirements
The Planning Act requires that all complete applications be processed. The applications are now being circulated to Town Departments and Agencies for technical review. No decision has been made regarding this application.

Legal Notices required under the Planning Act
If a person or public body would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Milton Council but does not make oral submissions at a pubic meeting, if one is held, or make written submissions to the Town of Milton in respect of the proposed plan of subdivision before the approval authority gives or refuses to give approval to the draft plan of subdivision, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, if one is held, or make written submissions to the Town of Milton in respect of the proposed plan of subdivision before the approval authority gives or refuses to give approval to the draft plan of subdivision, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
