Milton Transit, in partnership with the Milton Public Library, will offer its annual Read and Ride program this summer. From June 13 to Sept. 6, youth aged 16 and under can ride Milton Transit for free by showing their validated library card to the bus driver upon boarding.

Free transit validation stickers will be available for free at all Milton Public Library branches starting June 13. Participants must place the validation sticker on their library card to take part in the program.

We’re pleased to partner with the Milton Public Library to bring back Read and Ride for another summer,” said Tony D’Alessandro, Director, Milton Transit. “This program is a great example of how we can make transit more accessible while helping Milton’s youth stay connected to their community. Whether they’re heading to the library, summer programs or exploring Milton, we’re proud to help make those connections easier and more convenient.”

A kickoff celebration is scheduled for June 13 at the Main Library Branch at 1010 Main St. E. from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Residents can take part in fun activities, receive their validation stickers, and participate in a scavenger hunt on a Milton Transit bus parked outside the library.

“Programs like Read and Ride help remove barriers and create more opportunities for youth to stay engaged, curious, and connected throughout the summer,” said Sarah Douglas-Murray, CEO, Milton Public Library. “We’re proud to once again partner on an initiative that supports access to the library, encourages exploration of the community, and promotes lifelong learning beyond our walls.”
