Ontario Street Enhancements

Ontario Street, from Main Street East to Laurier Avenue

Completion: Oct. 10, 2025
Project description
The Ontario Street Rehabilitation Project includes:
- Localized storm sewer pipe and structure rehabilitation
- Curb and sidewalk replacement
- Concrete road base repairs
- Full-depth base and surface course asphalt replacement
This work will take place on Ontario St. between Main St. East and Laurier Ave.
Lane closures
There will be no full road closures during this project. However, localized lane closures will be in place. Some night work will occur at affected intersections.

Construction Staging
- Stage 1A will begin on Sept. 22 and close the southbound lanes from Main St. to Oak St./Childs Dr. intersection. Traffic will be diverted into the northbound lanes.
- Stage 1B will close the northbound lanes, with traffic diverted into the southbound lanes.
- Once Stage 1 is complete, all lanes will reopen before work begins on Stage 2, from south of Oak St./Childs Dr. to Donald Campbell Ave.
Construction timelines are dependent on many factors, including weather.
Town-led construction is essential municipal work to ensure Milton’s infrastructure remains safe, in state of good repair and able to meet the community’s needs now and in the future.
