Milton Council has adopted the Agerton Secondary Plan that will guide long-term growth for a new community east of Milton’s existing urban area.
The Agerton planning areais about 359 hectares and is bounded by Highway 401 to the north, Derry Road to the south, the Greenbelt to the west, and Eighth Line to the east.
The plan sets out a framework for a complete community with a mix of land uses, includingresidential, employment, parks, and community services. The tallest buildings are planned near a proposed major transit station in the Derry Road and Trafalgar Road area.
Initiated in 2018, the Agerton Secondary Plan reflects updated provincial policy and several phases of public engagement. Outreach involved Public Information Centres, open houses, public meetings, and agency and community reviews.
“Thank you to everyone who provided input into the Agerton Secondary Plan,” said Jill Hogan, Commissioner of Development Services. “Your feedback has helped strengthen the plan for this future community.”
