In celebration of Black History Month, the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton proudly presents Out of Many Cultures, One People: An Afro-Caribbean Collective art exhibition, in partnership with the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton (CCAH).
Curated by Francesca Durham, the vibrant art showcase celebrates the richness and diversity of Black cultural expression and features pieces that reflect heritage, memory, migration, and resilience. The exhibition honours difference without division, presenting art as a unifying force that amplifies many stories into one people, one rhythm, and one enduring cultural voice.
The exhibition will be on display in the Holcim Gallery from Feb. 3 to 28, 2026.
The Holcim Gallery will also host a special Black History Month Reading Corner session on Feb. 14 at 11 a.m., presented by the Milton Public Library in partnership with the CCAH. This family-friendly event will feature acclaimed author Nadia Hohn and her children’s book Malaika’s Costume. Best suited for children ages four to nine — but open to all — this interactive session invites families to explore Caribbean culture through storytelling, music, and activities.
The Holcim Gallery is located at 1010 Main St. East, Milton and is open Tuesdays - Thursdays from 11 a.m.– 8 p.m., Mondays and Fridays from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
