Nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election open May 1

Election Day is Oct. 26, 2026. 

Individuals interested in running for office may file a nomination for one of the following positions:

Candidates are encouraged to book an appointment with the Town’s election staff to file their nomination.

Candidate information session  

Individuals considering running for office are invited to attend a virtual candidate information session hosted by Halton municipalities on April 21, 2026, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. 

The session, Thinking about running for Council?, will provide an overview of the roles and responsibilities of municipal and regional council members, including time commitments and the legal and financial obligations. 

The session will feature a municipal solicitor and a former elected official. It is open to anyone interested in running in the 2026 Municipal Election. Registration is required. 

Get ready to vote 

Voters can visit RegisterToVoteON.ca to review and update their information on the provincial voters’ list. Property owners can also update their school support designation on the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation website until June 1, 2026.
