Minor Variance Application

Take notice that pursuant to S.45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, C.P.13, as amended, this application will be considered by the Milton Committee of Adjustment and Consent starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, in the Town Council Chambers, Town Hall, 150 Mary St., Milton, Ont. Due to the ongoing Canada Post strikes, this notice is posted on the Town’s website in accordance with the Planning Act.

Application details

The property owner of 206 Martin Street (PT LOT 15, Concession 2) in the Town of Milton under Section 45(1) of the Planning Act, is requesting the Committee of Adjustment to authorize a minor variance to permit an increased lot coverage and to allow an attached garage to project past the front wall of a building. Therefore, the following variance to Zoning By-law 016-2014, as amended, is required:

Section 6.2, Table 6B (I)
The By-law states that the maximum lot coverage permitted for a lot having a lot area greater than 830m2 is 20%

 To permit a maximum lot coverage of 29.6% (+9.6%)

Section 6.3.2 ii) b)
The By-law states: for a garage or carport where the width of the garage face or front of the carport is greater than 3.5m, the garage face or front of the carport shall be setback a minimum of 5.5m from the building front wall.

 To permit the garage face to be located a maximum of 9.45m in front of the building front wall (+9.45m)

The community is invited to attend and/or participate in the statutory public hearing. Should you have comments on the application, you are invited to attend the public hearing to express your views. Alternatively, written submissions will be accepted with respect to this application and must be made in writing NO LATER THAN Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025 to the Secretary-Treasurer, as noted below. Any written correspondence provided to the Committee Secretary-Treasurer is issued to the Members prior to the Hearing will form part of the public record and will be considered to have been read into evidence at the Hearing. The Agenda is posted one week before the hearing and can be viewed at milton.ca.
If you have received this notice and are an owner of a property and said property contains seven or more residential units, you are required to post this notice in a location that is visible to all the residents.
