The Town of Milton, in partnership with Arts Milton, is proud to share that Milton has been recognized as one of Canada’s top communities for arts and culture, earning recognition through Culture Days’ Top Participating Communities list.
Each year, Culture Days honours communities across Canada for their commitment to arts, culture, and creativity. In 2025, Milton ranked fifth overall in Canada and second among mid-sized cities for community participation.
In addition to these rankings, Threads of Tradition: Introduction to Phulkari Embroidery received the Best Collaborative Program award. The hands-on cultural learning experience was led by artist Rafia Shafiq and organized collaboratively by the Town of Milton, the Town of Halton Hills, the Town of Oakville, and the City of Burlington, in partnership with the Art Gallery of Burlington and Halton Region Heritage Services.
The Town of Milton and Arts Milton continue to strengthen the community’s creative sector through shared leadership, partnerships, and programming. As Arts Milton celebrates its 25th anniversary with a Year of Collaborations theme, this recognition highlights how working together creates inclusive, meaningful cultural experiences for residents and helps Milton shine on the national Culture Days stage.
Residents are encouraged to explore upcoming winter arts and culture programs at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. Program details and registration information are available at firstontarioartscentremilton.ca.
