The Town of Milton has recognized $6,489,546 in contributions from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation during the 2025 fiscal year.
Through the Municipality Contribution Agreement (MCA), annual contributions help fund community improvements and programming that benefit Milton residents.
Mayor Gord Krantz joined OLG representatives to highlight a $1.5 million OLG investment supporting enhancements to the Town’s emergency services, specifically in call answering and emergency dispatch.
“The Town of Milton is pleased to recognize another contribution from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation,” said Gord Krantz, Mayor, Town of Milton. “Community safety often depends on emergency communications. Enhancements to the systems used by our fire staff are one more example of how OLG proceeds bring lasting benefits to Milton.”
The funding will help cover items such as redundant power and cooling systems at Town facilities, additional radio consoles, and an enhanced call recording system for Milton Fire & Rescue Services.
A portion of OLG funds is also directed to the local non-profit sector through the Milton Community Fund and Small Grants Program. These grants support groups and agencies that deliver local sports, art programs, festivals, and other community initiatives.
“OLG is proud to be a vital part of the Town of Milton,” said Kathleen Devine, Senior Municipal Relations Manager, OLG.
“Since the organization’s start in 1975, 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities. From critical infrastructure to important local programs to community festivals, OLG’s profits are hard at work in the Town of Milton and across our province to build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Elements Casino Mohawk, who are making life in your community that much better. When you play at an Ontario casino, you play for Ontario.”
Since opening its Mohawk facility in August 1999, OLG has provided $154.1 million to the Town of Milton.
