What to expect from the After School Club

Funded by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport and Tourism, the program is designed for children in junior kindergarten to Grade 6.

Milton’s After School Club program focuses on physical activity, personal health and wellness. All participants are provided with a daily healthy and nutritious snack.

Program hours and location

Milton’s After School Club is based out of the Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Boulevard). The program operates Monday – Friday from 3:30 to 6 p.m. throughout the school year (excluding holidays, school breaks and early dismissal days).

The After School Club currently services Our Lady of Victory and St. Benedict elementary schools, with staff walking students to the program. Participants who have daily transportation to and from the program are welcome to register.

Late pick-up fees

If your child is picked up after 6 p.m., a $10 fee will be charged right away. An additional $10 fee will be charged for every 15 minutes after that. These fees are not covered by financial assistance programs, and will be added to your family account.

If you have a question or need to report an absence, please contact the After School Club.  

Inclusion support at After School Club

If your child receives additional support in school, it’s likely that they will require support in the After School Club program.

Formal school supports may include:

  • Individualized Education Plan
  • Behaviour Safety Plan
  • Educational Assistant (EA) support
  • Modified programming or schedule

Consider, does your child receive support at school or in community settings for any of the following:

  • Managing emotional reactions and emotional regulation
  • Managing physical reactions (hitting, pushing, leaving program space) when upset/frustrated
  • Remaining in the program space
  • Transitioning safely between spaces (ie. walking from gym to the pool)
  • Require assistance with feeding or going to the washroom, including hygiene care (i.e., wiping, changing into a bathing suit, one to one supervision or hand over hand with eating).

If your participant requires any of these supports at school or in community settings, it is recommended that you consider inclusion support services.
