In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that Shearling Heights Estates Ltd. has submitted applications for a Local Official Plan Amendment.

Location

The subject property is located at 1572 Chretien Street and located at the corner of Bronte Street South and Britannia Road. The property is referred to as a “Major Node Block” within the Main Sail Estates subdivision (Registered Plan 20M-1184) and was re-zoned in 2022 to permit townhouse-built forms on the subject property with site-specific relief to allow for urban design features and elements.

Applicant's Proposal

The proposal will feature one (1) mid-rise seven (7) storey building at the corner of Bronte Street South and Britannia Road which includes 808 square metres commercial at-grade and consists of 223 residential units. The site will also feature 71 townhouse units with associated private garages. A total of 349 parking spaces will be provided on site with one-level of underground parking offered for the mid-rise building and visitor parking for both commercial and residential uses is exclusively provided at-grade for ease of access. In order to facilitate the proposal, a Local Official Plan Amendment is required to provide relief for the limit of ground related units which is a maximum of 20% however, the proposed development will require permissions for 34%.

The Planning Act requires that all complete applications be processed. The applications are now being circulated to Town Departments and Agencies for technical review. No decision has been made regarding this application.

Notice of the Statutory Public Meeting will be given in accordance with the Planning Act requirements. The Statutory Public Meeting is where members of the public will be invited to obtain information, make a verbal presentation and/or written submission, to identify issues of concern and/or express views in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed application at the Statutory Public Meeting only. A separate notice will be mailed to you confirming the date, time and location.

If you have received this notice as an owner of a property and the property contains seven (7) or more residential units, the Town of Milton requires that you post this notice in a location that is visible to all the residents.
