In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that Slessor Square LP Inc. has applied for an Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments for 388 Main Street East, 389, 395, 399, 405, and 409 Pearl Street and 17 Prince Street.
Location
The subject properties are bounded by Main Street East, Bruce Street, Pearl Street and Prince Street. The subject properties are located in Ward 1 and comprise an area of approximately 0.58 hectares. The properties are legally described as Part of Lot 6 and all of Lots 7, 8, and 9, South of Main Street and all of Lots 4, 5,6 and 7 North of Pearl Street in the Town of Milton and are municipally identified as 388 Main Street East, 389, 395, 399, 405 and 409 Pearl Street and 17 Prince Street.
The subject properties are within the Central Business District Secondary Plan in the Town of Milton Official Plan. The lands along Main Street East are designated Urban Growth Centre Mixed Use Sub-Area and the remaining lands are designated Low Density Residential Sub-Area. The lands along Main Street East are zoned Urban Growth Centre – Mixed Use with a holding provision (UGH-MU-H) and the remaining lands are zoned Low Density Residential I (RLD1) in the Town’s Urban Zoning By-law 016-2014, as amended.
Applicant's Proposal
- The proposed mixed-use development consists of two towers (16-storeys and 18-storeys) on a shared 6-storey podium. The proposed development includes 570 residential units and 815 square metres of ground floor commercial space along Main Street East. Parking is proposed to be accommodated on three levels of underground parking.
- The purpose of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to re-designate the subject lands to the Urban Growth Centre Mixed Use Sub-Area designation and apply a site-specific policy area to facilitate the proposed development.
- The purpose of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to apply a site-specific Urban Growth Centre Mixed Use (UGC-MU-XX) zone to permit the proposed high-density mixed-use development as well as apply site-specific provisions that address parking, amenity space, floor space index, building height, setbacks, stepbacks, tower height, tower separation, and floor plates.
Planning Act Requirements
The Planning Act requires that all complete applications be processed. The applications are now being circulated to Town Departments and Agencies for technical review. No decision has been made regarding the applications.

Legal Notices required under the Planning Act
Notice of the Statutory Public Meeting will be given in accordance with the Planning Act requirements. The Statutory Public Meeting is where members of the public will be invited to obtain information, make a verbal presentation and/or written submission, to identify issues of concern and/or express views in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed application at the Statutory Public Meeting only. A separate notice will be mailed to you confirming the date, time and location.
If you have received this notice as an owner of a property and the property contains seven (7) or more residential units, the Town of Milton requires that you post this notice in a location that is visible to all the residents.
