Official Plan text and Conformity Amendment

Milton enacted By-law No. 069-2010 on June 14, 2010, which adopted the Town of Milton's Official Plan Amendment No. 31 (OPA 31), and forwarded OPA 31 to the Region for approval. The Amendment aligns our Official Plan with the Province’s Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe as well as Halton Region’s Official Plan.

Following Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) approval of Regional Official Plan Amendment No. 38, and a review of OPA 31 with Milton staff, the Region proposed changes to OPA 31. The Regional changes to OPA 31 are available as tracked changes to the Milton Official Plan in Appendix 2 of PD-029-18. Milton Council passed a resolution supporting the changes on June 18, 2018.

The Region approved OPA 31 on November 22, 2018. There were seven appeals of that decision to the LPAT. The appeal and approval process is ongoing. Visit LPAT to view the case details, decisions and orders.
