You can vote for the Ward 1 Town Councillor if you are:
You can only vote once, no matter how many properties you own or rent in Ward 1. Review eligibility to vote according to 2022 Voters’ Guide – Ontario municipal council and school board elections. Under section 65 (4) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, a person is not eligible to vote in a by-election if they could not vote for that office during a regular election held on the same day. You cannot vote if you are:

Eligible Ward 1 residents can check below if they’re on the Voters’ List. Eligible Ward 1 residents not on the list can still vote during advance voting (Sept. 19 or 20) or on election day (Oct. 6) by showing one piece of ID with their name and Ward 1 address. |

Appoint a voting proxy |
If you cannot vote in person, you may appoint a voting proxy to vote for you—someone you trust who is an eligible voter in the Town of Milton. Both the voter making the appointment and the voter being appointed must be on the voters’ list. To appoint a proxy:
To obtain a form, contact the Town of Milton Election Team or visit Town Hall during regular business hours (Monday to Friday). Please contact the Election Team to arrange a time to review the form with you and/or certify the proxy forms. Important notes:

Identification |
You must bring one piece of identification that shows your name and Ward 1 address.

Voter notification cards |
Voter notification cards were mailed to eligible voters on the voters’ list in early September. Ward 1 voters are reminded to bring their voter notification card and one piece of identification. Eligible residents who have not received a voter notification card can still vote by providing identification that includes their name and Ward 1 address. |
Accessibility |
If you have accessibility questions or concerns, please contact the Town of Milton Election Team or call 905-875-5390. Curbside voting If you are physically unable to go inside the voting place, you can request to have your ballot brought to your vehicle, outside of the building, or to another area within the voting place. Personal assistance to voters If you require assistance at the voting place you may bring a friend along to help or you may ask an election official for assistance. Your friend may go behind the voting screen with you; however, they must make a declaration first. |
