Speak with your neighbour

Before beginning construction on a division fence, speak with your neighbour(s) to determine how the cost for the fence will be divided. If you are able to reach an agreement, you can begin construction on the fence.

Submit a Notice of Intent

If you can’t reach an agreement with your neighbour, you can request to divide the cost of the fence equally. You’ll need to serve your neighbour with a Notice of Intent along with any necessary supporting documents.
