 9980 Derry Holdings

The applicant submitted a rezoning application for lands located at 9980 Derry Rd. to allow for the development of a two-storey daycare use with associated play area and parking.

Current status

A statutory public meeting was held on February 10, 2020. The application is currently under technical review by the Town and commenting agencies. Once the review has been completed, a recommendation report will be brought to Council.

Boyne Urban Development Inc. – 8671 & 8751 Britannia Rd.

The applicant, Boyne Urban Development Inc., is proposing to redevelop the subject lands with three duplex townhouse blocks and two stacked townhouse blocks connected by a private road. The proposal will provide 32 duplex townhomes, two standard townhomes and 30 stacked townhomes.

Current status

Fernbrook Homes (Milton One) Limited

The applicant has submitted a development application to rezone the lands at 8175 Britannia Rd. to permit a residential development of 254 townhouse units.  

Current status

The application has been circulated for agency review. A statutory public meeting will take place later this year.

Halton District School Board - Kennedy Circle West

The property owner, the Halton District School Board, has submitted planning applications to facilitate the development of a three-storey elementary school on the subject lands. A plan of subdivision is required to create the appropriate sized blocks for the school use as well as the extension of the public roadway (Kennedy Circle West) that is needed to provide access to the school.

Mattamy Bayview Lexis

Mattamy Bayview Lexis submitted a subdivision and rezoning application to allow the development of a new subdivision along Fourth Line, south of Louis St. Laurant and west of James Snow Parkway. The application proposes 400 single detached homes, 377 townhouses, a neighbourhood park, two stormwater management ponds and greenland channels to protect the natural heritage system.

Current status

The phase one Zoning By-law amendment was approved on April 12, 2021. Phase two is under technical review by staff and commenting agencies.

Mattamy (Brownridge) Limited – Whitlock Avenue

The applicant, Mattamy (Brownridge) Limited, is proposing 12 single detached dwellings, two environmental buffer blocks and an extension of Whitlock Avenue. 

The proposed lots and blocks were draft approved and zoned under File 24T-15002/M; however, the draft approval lapsed in October 2020. A new draft plan of subdivision has been prepared for the unregistered Phase 2 lots and blocks. They were removed from the Phase 1 registration in the previous application to accommodate any potential changes to the alignment of the bridge (and associated portion of Whitlock Avenue) through the detailed design process. The bridge design is now complete.

Current status 

The application is now undergoing technical review by the Town and agencies. No decision has been made regarding this application.

Mazmik Developments and Milton Thompson Developments - 0 Thompson Rd. S.

The applicants are proposing to develop the subject lands with a mix of commercial uses. The site plan proposes six commercial buildings with a total gross floor area of ±7,878.64 square metres of commercial retail space. A Zoning By-law amendment is required to rezone these Future Development (FD) lands to site-specific Secondary Mixed Use Commercial (C2*---) zone to permit this development.

Town staff and commenting agencies are reviewing the application.

Mil Con Three Developments Ltd.

The proposed development at 8625 Britannia Rd. is proposing 140 detached dwellings, a village square, a stormwater management block, a five-metre trail and natural heritage system on the subject property.

This application is currently under technical review. After we’ve reviewed and received agency comments, we will prepare a technical report for Council.

The applicant will be hosting a public information centre once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. After the PIC, the Town will host a statutory public meeting.

Milton III-75 Land Limited

The proposed Milton III-75 Land Limited development would include 270 residential units - 116 single detached homes, 82 street townhomes and72 back-to-back townhomes. The development would also have a mixed-use area with a village square, woodlot and green spaces.

Current status

We are now reviewing the development’s rezoning and local Official Plan amendment applications. After we’ve reviewed and received agency comments, we will prepare a technical report for Council.

Milton Thompson Road Developments GP Inc. - 981 and 995 Thompson Rd. S.

A draft plan of subdivision and Zoning By-law amendment were submitted in order to facilitate the development of a six-storey apartment building. The built form and size of the proposed apartment building remain the same as initially presented; however, changes to the interior layout and floorplans internal to the building have resulted in an increase in the number of dwelling units from 137 to 148 units. As a result of the increase in units, the resultant resident parking rate is also reduced to 1.22 spaces per residential dwelling unit from the previously proposed 1.34 spaces per residential dwelling unit. The visitor parking rate is proposed to remain at 0.25 spaces per dwelling unit, which meets the requirements of the zoning by-law. Overall, the 218 parking spaces proposed, remains the same.

Mistburn Estates Inc.

Mistburn Estates Inc. submitted a zoning by-law amendment to allow for the development of a commercial centre consisting of approximately six, one-storey buildings. The proposed development is located at Thompson Rd. S and Louis St. Laurent Ave.

Oxford Properties

The property owners, OPG Derry Green Lands Inc. and Branthaven Fifth Line Inc., are proposing to construct a prestige business park with light industrial warehouses and office uses, in accordance with the Derry Green Corporate Business Park Secondary Plan.

Primont Homes

Primont Homes submitted a subdivision and rezoning application to allow the development of a new subdivision at Britannia Road East and Regional Rd. 25 with 153 single detached homes, 135 townhouses, open spaces, trails and linkages.

Current status

The application has been circulated for agency review and a statutory public meeting took place on March 19, 2018. A technical report was considered by Council on August 12, 2019 at which time the Zoning By-law amendment was approved and the plan of subdivision was draft approved.

Since that time the applicant has been working through the clearing of the conditions of draft plan approval and is approaching registration. Once registration has been achieved, the builders can apply for building permits for individual lots and blocks upon which homes can be built.
