9980 Derry Holdings

The applicant submitted a rezoning application for lands located at 9980 Derry Road to allow for the development of a 2-storey daycare use with associated play area and parking.

Current Status
A statutory public meeting was held on Monday, February 10, 2020.  The application is currently under technical review by Town departments and commenting agencies.  Once the review has been completed, a recommendation report will be forwarded to Council.  All residents who requested to be notified of these applications, will be at the time the report is ready.

Fernbrook Homes (Milton One) Limited

The applicant has submitted a development application to rezone the lands at 8175 Britannia Road to permit a residential development of 254 townhouse units.  Town File: Z-10/20

Halton Catholic District School Board

Halton Catholic District School Board’s development would include a new secondary school. This will require a Local Official Plan Amendment to redesignate the lands and a Zoning By-law amendment. The remainder of the lands would stay vacant until future development.

Planning staff held a statutory public meeting to discuss the proposed development on Monday, March 25, 2019. We invited the community to get information, identify issues and share their thoughts on the applications.

Mattamy Homes

Mattamy Bayview Lexis submitted a subdivsion and rezoning application to allow the development of a new subdivision along Fourth Line, south of Louis St. Laurant and west of James Snow Parkway with 400 single detached homes, 377 townhouses, a neighbourhood park, 2 stormwater management ponds and greenland channels to protect the natural heritage system.

 Current Status
The applications have been accepted and is in the initial review stage.  Public information centres and a statutory public meeting will be held in the Spring of 2020.

Mazmik Developments Limited

Mazmik Developments Limited applied for rezoning to allow the development of a commercial centre with eight one-storey buildings and a total floor area of around 8,800 m2. The rezoning application proposes changing the Future Development Zone to a site-specific Secondary Mixed-Use Commercial Zone. The southern area of property would be a residential development with around 230 units, which would be created after the centre.

Mil Con Three Developments Ltd.

The proposed development at 8625 Britannia Road is proposing 140 detached dwellings, a village square, a stormwater management block, a 5-metre trail and natural heritage system on the subject property.

Milton III-75 Land Limited

The proposed Milton III-75 Land Limited development would include 270 residential units:

  • 116 single, detached homes
  • 82 street townhomes
  • 72 back-to-back townhomes 

The development would also have a mixed-use area with a village square, woodlot and green spaces.

We are now reviewing the development’s rezoning and Local Official Plan Amendment applications. Milton Thompson Road Developments GP Inc.

The applicant has submitted a draft plan of subdivision and zoning by-law amendment applications for the lands at 981 and 995 Thompson Road South

Current Status
The application has been received and is currently under review by commenting agencies and Town department.  The applicant will be hosting a public information centre to provide details of their proposed development.  A statutory public meeting will be held after the public information centre.  Separate notices will be mailed to confirm the date, time and location. 

Mistburn Estates Inc.

Mistburn Estates Inc. submitted a zoning by-law amendment to allow for the development of a commercial centre consisting of approximately six, one-storey buildings. The proposed development is located at Thompson Rd. S and Louis St. Laurent Ave.

Current status

Oxford Properties

OPG Derry Green Lands Inc. (Oxford) and Branthaven Fifth Line Inc. have submitted a subdivision, local official plan amendment and zoning by-law amendment to enable the development of a Prestige Business Park.

 Current Status

In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, a complete application has been received by the Town of Milton’s Development Services Department by OPG Derry Green Lands Inc. and Branthaven Fifth Line Inc for a proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision, Local Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment for lands located at 0, 6390-6400 and 6548 Fifth Line (Subject Lands). The applications are known as Town files 24T-20002/M, LOPA-01/20 & Z-02/20).

The applicant is proposing to construct a prestige business park with light industrial warehouses and office uses, in accordance with the Derry Green Corporate Business Park Secondary Plan. The proposed Plan of Subdivision consists of 8 development blocks of a variety of shapes and sizes to allow for the future development of light industrial warehouses and office uses, and includes the extensions of Clark Boulevard and Louis St. Laurent Avenue. The proposed Official Plan Amendment seeks to modify the Derry Green Secondary Plan Schedules to better align the designations with the proposed development blocks, to permit parking between the buildings and the street along James Snow Parkway, and to permit a reduced office component for light industrial uses located within the Natural Heritage Oriented Area Overlay designation. Lastly, the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment seeks to rezone the lands from the existing Future Development (FD) zone and Natural Heritage System (NHS) zone to the Prestige Office (EMP1) zone, the Business Park (M1) zone, the Natural Heritage System (NHS) zone, and the Open Space-Stormwater Management (OS-2) zone. Additional site specific regulations are also proposed related to permitted uses, maximum building heights, minimum landscaped open space, minimum and maximum gross floor areas, and building setbacks.

The applications are now being circulated to Town Departments and Agencies for technical review.  No decision has been made regarding these applications.   

A virtual Statutory Public Meeting has been scheduled for November 16, 2020. Notice of the Statutory Public Meeting will be given in accordance with the Planning Act requirements.  At the Statutory Public Meetings, members of the public are invited to obtain information, make a verbal presentation and/or written submission, to identify issues of concern and/or express views in support of, or in opposition to the proposed applications.  Once the technical review is complete, a recommendation report will be presented to Council.

Primont Homes

Primont Homes submitted a subdivision and rezoning application to allow the development of a new subdivision at Britannia Rd. E and Regional Rd. 25 with 153 single detached homes, 135 townhouses, open spaces, trails and linkages.

Sixteen Mile Land Corp.

Sixteen Mile Land Corp. has submitted a draft plan of subdivision, local official plan amendment and zoning by-law amendments for lands located at 6439 Regional Road 25.
